The driver of a van that crashed in heavy west Auckland fog, killing two of his friends, has appeared in court today.
Joel Dylan Bowlin, 22, entered no pleas to two charges of drink-driving causing death.
He will appear again in the Waitakere District Court next month.
Tye Gibbs, 19, and Ashley Walsh, 20, were killed when the van they were travelling in crashed on Old North Rd near Kumeu in the early hours of August 24 last year.
Bowlin was the sole survivor and suffered minor injuries.
