Management at the Waitaki freezing works damaged by a weekend fire still cannot say when staff will be able to return to work.
An inspection of the Alliance plant at Pukeuri north of Oamaru has revealed extensive damage to two rooms in the boning section of the plant. Another two rooms have suffered smoke and water damage.
Plant manager Danny Hailes says he is today still unable to give an idea on when the 900 or so employees can return to work.
