KEY POINTS:
Police investigating a reported pack rape of a Christchurch woman say they have had a great response from the public but don't yet have any strong leads.
The woman, in her 30s, told police she was sexually violated by a group of men she met on a raft anchored for swimmers at Corsair Bay, near Lyttelton, on Sunday.
The attack, by between four and six men ranging in age from 20s to 40s, happened later the same day in a south Christchurch suburb.
Police investigating the case yesterday asked to see any photos taken by people at Corsair Bay between 11am and 3.15pm, as they could hold the key to the inquiry.
Detective Senior Sergeant John Rae, of Hornby police, said today there had been a good response from the public, with calls from people who were at Corsair Bay, and in the suburb where the alleged attack took place.
The investigation team had not yet analysed all the information, he said.
He was unsure if any photos had been handed in to police.
Mr Rae said there was no reason to believe the complaint was anything other than genuine.
"If it turns out not to be, that will be way down the track."
