New Idea editor Fleur Revell has resigned "to pursue other interests" after an inconclusive inquiry into an email critical of the magazine's management and staff.
Pacific Publishing said yesterday that the inquiry found no conclusive evidence about who circulated Revell's confidential email.
Revell denied she had sent the memo, understood to have been intended for the group's Australian chief executive. It is understood the email criticised the group's New Zealand general manager, Sandra King, and other employees.
Revell went on paid leave in March for what the company said was a gross breach of confidence after the email turned up among other staff members.
In a brief statement, Pacific Publishing said Revell had "elected to pursue other interests". She could not be contacted yesterday.
Revell, who made national headlines during a relationship with broadcaster Paul Holmes, became New Idea editor in September last year.
The magazine would not discuss her contract terms, but said a pay settlement had been reached.
No Idea what next for Fleur
