No guilty plea to Auckland party death

A young man has pleaded not guilty to manslaughter after the death of another man at an Auckland house party.

The 22-year-old man is charged with manslaughter following the death of 25-year-old Reginald Sharma in Mt Roskill last month.

The accused, who has interim name suppression, appeared in the High Court at Auckland today and entered a not guilty plea.

He was remanded in custody to his next court appearance on November 15.

Sharma died at a house party in Haughey Ave in the early hours of August 19.

He died in the driveway despite efforts from those at the party to carry out CPR.

Sharma was described as a selfless and cheerful man following his death.

Friends and family said he was a fun-loving, cheerful son, brother, nephew, father and stepfather.

"... a person with a heart of gold always putting others first we are truly gonna miss you," his partner previously said.

Sharma and his partner were expecting a child together.
