KEY POINTS:
All Blacks winger Doug Howlett is in the clear after allegedly damaging two vehicles following a night of drinking at a hotel bar in London.
Howlett was arrested when he was seen jumping on two cars parked at the Hilton Hotel at Heathrow Airport after the All Blacks crashed out of the Rugby World Cup.
He released a video apologising to his fans which is posted on his website.
A Scotland Yard spokeswoman said police confirmed on Friday (Saturday NZT) that no further action would be taken in the case. She declined to comment further.
Howlett's lawyer David Jones had previously said he was optimistic the winger would not be prosecuted over the incident Howlett described as "tomfoolery".
"If they look at it sensibly it was boys out drinking being silly, doing things they normally wouldn't do," Mr Jones said.
Howlett, who became the All Blacks record tryscorer during the tournament but was dropped for the quarterfinal against France, is due to join Irish club Munster at the start of next year.
