Foul play is no longer suspected in the case of a man found dead on a Christchurch driveway.
Warren Noel Blackett, 44, was found with severe head injuries about 6.30am on Wednesday and died in hospital yesterday afternoon.
Police initially treated the incident as a possible hit and run but Detective Senior Sergeant Tony Hill said today this did not appear to be the case.
"These are preliminary findings only, and the cause of death will be determined by the coroner,'' Mr Hill said.
"However, an accidental death, possibly the result of a fall or other incident, is a scenario that we are strongly considering.''
