KEY POINTS:
New Zealand has had a weekend with no road deaths for only the second time this year.
Ministry of Transport spokeswoman Lesley Reidy said there had been no road deaths reported between 5pm on Friday and 6am today.
The only other weekend there were no road deaths was the period ended January 22.
