The Fire Service says there were no deaths after a house fire in South Auckland this morning.
It had earlier been reported that one person died.
Four people were taken to hospital and an elderly woman is said to have serious burns.
The blaze broke out just before 4am at a Housing New Zealand property in Valiant Street in Mangere.
The injured people were taken to Middlemore Hospital, suffering burns and smoke inhalation.
Fire safety officers were at the scene investigating the cause.
The house was gutted by the blaze.
