TVNZ has been vindicated after a police investigation into a current affairs programme ended without any basis for charges being found.
Police began an investigation after Sunday aired a show last month on alleged looter Arie Smith-Voorkamp, who was charged with stealing light fittings after the February earthquake.
Police will not reveal what the investigation was focused on as the looting case is still before the courts. But Inspector Derek Erasmus confirmed police were satisfied there was no criminal culpability on TVNZ's part.
