No bomb found at Rimutaka Prison

No bomb has been found at Wellington's Rimutaka Prison after a member of the public reported a "suspicious package" in a carpark.

Police were called to the prison carpark at about 9am.

A specialist search group and a bomb dog were on the scene, but Corrections have now announced the matter has been resolved and nothing was found.

"Prison operations have resumed as normal."
