No bail for man accused of abduction

The High Court at Rotorua yesterday denied an appeal for bail by a Tauranga man accused of abducting and indecently assaulting a 5-year-old girl.

Tony Douglas Robertson, 19, has been in custody since he allegedly kidnapped the girl as she was walking to school on December 15.

He faces one charge of abduction and three of indecent assault, as well as two counts of attempted abduction for allegedly trying to kidnap a 6-year-old and 7-year-old the previous day.
