Hockey
The number eight must be starting to haunt Dalefield in the Wellington premier men's hockey competition.
Their last three matches have seen Dalefield lose 8-2 to Indians, 8-1 to Victoria University and 8-1 to Harbour City, and they will be keen to change that trend when they come up against Hutt at Clareville tomorrow.
That the level of opposition from Hutt will be as formidable as those from the other sides virtually goes without saying. They sit second on the points table and their 65 goals is the highest scored by any of the six teams so far this season, and an absolute avalanche when you compare them to Dalefield, who have netted 24 goals.
Interestingly, however, Dalefield have fared reasonably well against Hutt in their two previous meetings this season, losing by just 6-5 in their first clash and 4-0 in the second.
