The DB Southern Regions Triangular was held at the course over the weekend - Wellington, Hawke's Bay and Wairarapa play in three divisions for trophies. The women were fourth out of four, which was a pity, as Wairarapa has no junior girls playing. The only one was George Rink's granddaughter, so the team was a group of mature women. However, there was some good news. Jason van Zanten had a big hand in Wairarapa's age-group win. The senior men were third - Lyall Callaghan and Lance Phelps helped the cause here.
Ten players ventured out for club competition and the winner was Patrick Pedlow with a nett 69, Ian Stewart with a 71 was runner-up and was also the winner of the putts with 28. Phil Eberlein and Bruce Ward were next with nett 75.
On Friday, April 15 there is a charity tournament in aid of the St John Association. The theme is Ambrose, so make up a team of four and get your entry in: $100 a team (that's $25 each) to Terry Blacktop or contact the club.
