Nine pupils from exclusive Lindisfarne College in Hastings have been expelled for marijuana use.
The boys were among 17 students, aged between 16 and 18, suspended earlier this month following an investigation.
As well as the nine who were suspended, a further six remained on extended suspension, The Dominion Post reported today.
Lindisfarne is an integrated boys' school founded under the auspices of the Presbyterian Church.
College rector Grant Lander said last week the school was "surprised" at the number of students involved, but denied there was a drug culture at the school.
