Search crew using night vision goggles have rescued a man lost on the Whanganui River after his jet-ski malfunctioned.
The rescue crew, the Palmerston North Rescue Helicopter crew and police were dispatched at 1.30am and located the man on the river north of Kaiwhaiki as he was paddling south.
The man was uninjured and the rescue crew were able to use a helicopter search light to guide him to a point downstream where he was retrieved to shore.
He was uninjured and airlifted to Whanganui.
