Model Nicky Watson's worst fears have come true - her beloved dog, Cricket, is dead.
Her pet nine-year-old Chihuahua was found dead on Matarangi beach in the Coromandel yesterday morning.
A woman close to Ms Watson told the Dominion Post the model had not slept since her dog went missing, while she was staying at Matarangi on November 24.
The woman said it was really sad for Ms Watson, and she was pretty upset.
