Ngawi fisherman a great catch for Lotto

Lotto NZ hit the jackpot when choosing Ngawi fisherman Ken Feast to be an extra in their latest advertisement.

He knows the Lotto story well, having won Lotto back in the eighties.

"They were all blown away when they found out, they didn't know that I had actually won the Lotto," he said.

"They originally asked if I could be involved in the ad because I had a very interesting look - you see I've got really long hair."

Mr Feast said it was a great experience being involved in the making of the commercial, which was filmed in his town.

"I've lived in Ngawi full-time for 20 years but I've always been a part of the place," he said.

"My father was a fisherman and he built a bach here in 1969, which is now the house I live in.

"And I was born in the summer of '69."

He said that the film crews brought with them a vibrancy to Ngawi, which was usually a quiet fishing town.

"Ngawi is a very nice place to live, there's no hustle here.

"So when everyone came to film, there was a lot more activity and it was all very vibrant. The best part of it was how nice everybody was to interact with, everyone was just really nice to talk to.

"I was involved in the filming on one day, from seven in the morning til six, but they were here for two or three days filming. It was a real wild sea when we were filming which was great."
