Waikato police have made a breakthrough after an aggravated robbery of a service station.
Detective Sergeant Scott Neilson said they yesterday arrested a 15-year-old youth from Ngaruawahia in relation to the aggravated robbery of the BP service station at Horotiu on Tuesday morning.
"Police are continuing to investigate this matter and are hopeful further offenders will be held accountable for their actions," he said.
A group of four people smashed their way into the service station which has had three aggravated robberies this year.
Cash and cigarettes were taken.
Neilson thanked the public for their help in the investigation and urged anyone with information on others involved to come forward.
"The community should be assured that the police treat this type of offending seriously and would not be able to advance our investigation of these crimes without the support and assistance of the community."
