A Dunedin newsreader who pleaded guilty to assault, has been cut from playing an All Black who allegedly assaulted a security guard more than 40 years ago.
Craig Storey pleaded guilty to assault with intent to injure in the Dunedin District Court.
He has since been suspended from his news reading job for local bulletin The South Today.
Storey was due to play recluse All Black Keith Murdoch in a local production of Finding Murdoch.
Globe Theatre publicity manager Keith Scott says that's no longer the case.
