If you're reading this, well done for surviving Saturday - New Zealand's most dangerous day.
Five years of statistics reveal more Kiwis have accidents on the first day of the weekend than on any other day.
Figures released by the Accident Compensation Corporation reveal Saturday is responsible for all five of last year's most dangerous days - more than 8400 accidents a day were reported, almost double ACC's daily average of 4600 claims.
Saturday was also the most dangerous day between 2010 and 2013, except for February 22, 2011, the day of the Christchurch earthquake.
"Weekend accidents are most likely due to Kiwis being at home or taking part in sport or recreational activities," an ACC spokeswoman said.
