A New Zealander is proud to have been named New Zealander of the Year in London.
Kent Gardner has been presented the award at Pleisterer's Hall, for raising money for the Canterbury earthquake appeal.
Mr Gardner raised a staggering $325,000 through the The Step Up for Christchurch event, a charity stair run up the 190-metre tall Gherkin office tower in London.
He says to receive such an honour is very humbling, and he's honoured to be part of a great team of UK based New Zealanders who are genuinely committed to supporting their country's greatest need.
