MELBOURNE - A New Zealander is one of two foreigners killed in a plane crash in Africa.
New Zealander Dougal Williamson, who was working for Perth-based company GPX, was with Australian colleague Ian Payne when their plane crashed south of Windhoek in Namibia on Thursday morning, the ABC reported.
The experienced pilots were assessing the region for mineral deposits as part of a geophysical survey.
Mr Williamson was flying the Cessna plane when it went down.
It is believed the pilots were blinded by the sun as they came over a mountain ridge and flew into the ground, SABC News reported.
A GPX Perth employee flew to Namibia after the crash.
