New Zealand has one of the highest workforce participation rates in the OECD for people aged 50 to 64. It ranks fourth behind Iceland, Sweden and Norway but ahead of the United States, the UK and Australia.
The OECD report, released yesterday, showed 77 per cent of New Zealand's 50 to 64-year-olds were in paid employment in 2005.
