New Zealand police team starts work in Dili

A 25-strong New Zealand police team has begun work alongside Australian and Portuguese counterparts in East Timor to try to maintain order in the troubled Dili area.

Assistant Commissioner Grant O'Fee said the officers would be engaged primarily in community policing work to help restore public confidence.
