New Zealand First has recorded a strong result in the latest poll - with just 100 days to go until the election.
The party has recorded 9.4 per cent support in the latest Newshub Reid-Research poll, an increase of 1.8 per cent and the highest result it has recorded in that poll.
The increase comes as immigration continues to be a key election-year issue, with debate about whether steps need to be taken to reduce record arrival numbers.
Peters has hit out at Labour over its position to "turn down the tap" on immigration, saying the party cannot be trusted to do so.
He has also pledged to make the re-entry of the Pike River mine a "bottom line" in any post-election coalition talks, and promised to get the ChristChurch Cathedral rebuilt.
