Company director and farmer Graeme Milne has been appointed as the Waikato District Health Board chairman, Health Minister Tony Ryall said today.
He replaces Jerry Rickman who retired to remove any perceived conflicts of interest between his role as chairman and his ongoing work as a consultant to PricewaterhouseCoopers Hamilton.
Mr Ryall said Mr Milne was based in Cambridge and involved in a number of companies across the electricity, insurance, pharmaceutical, fertiliser and dairy sectors.
His appointment begins on May 18 and ends in December 2010.
Sally Christie remains deputy chairwoman.
