The Post Primary Teachers Association's newly elected president, Robin Duff, wants to make teaching a more attractive and enjoyable profession.
Mr Duff, who takes over the role in January, will lead the association into a new pay round as the collective agreement expires in June.
He is an assistant head of department in English at Burnside High School in Christchurch and the association's junior vice-president.
