A mundane loan application became an unlikely source of humour for a pet owner when she found herself fitting into an unexpected cat-egory.
Chaene Maxwell was applying for a loan on Max Loans' website, when it asked her to declare her marital status.
Among the standard responses in the drop-down menu such as 'single', 'married', and 'civil union', a more obscure option was also available - 'single with cat'.
Maxwell posted a screenshot of the application on the Your Cats of Auckland Facebook page, saying the inclusion of the 'single cat' option "made [her] giggle".
