KEY POINTS:
Hyundai Motor Company has posted its best global monthly performance as sales rose 11.4 per cent to 253,846 units from a year earlier.
This brings first-half sales to a record high of 1,481,152 units, a 14.2 per cent year-on-year increase.
With global sales of 3,961,629 units last year, the Hyundai-Kia group become the world's fifth largest automaker, moving up from sixth in 2006.
