KEY POINTS:
The crew of the Earthrace speedboat involved in a fatal collision with a fishing boat now doubt they will be able to set a new round-the-world record by a diesel-powered craft.
Skipper Pete Bethune's wife Sharyn said last night the crew hoped to continue their trip but they doubted they would be able to break the world-record because they had lost too much time due to the accident.
The crew were due to appear in court in Guatemala tomorrow, she said. "Depending on the outcome, they hope to be able to leave on Saturday."
