KEY POINTS:
A new public opinion poll has bad news for New Zealand First and its Leader Winston Peters in Tauranga.
A snap Colmar Brunton/One News survey of 519 voters has National Party candidate Simon Bridges scoring 48 per cent support in the seat - 20 points more than Mr Peters.
National also dominates the Party vote scoring 55 per cent, Labour is second on 31 and New Zealand First a distant third on six per cent.
These numbers suggest the 730 majority with which National won the seat in 2005 would be extended significantly if an election were held now.
