KEY POINTS:
New district commanders for Waitemata and Counties Manukau police districts were announced by Police Commissioner Howard Broad today.
Superintendent Bill Searle is to take over command of Waitemata and Superintendent Mike Bush is to head Counties Manukau.
Mr Searle succeeds Viv Rickard who leaves the role on promotion to assistant commissioner of operations based in Wellington.
Mr Bush succeeds Steve Shortland who has been promoted to assistant commissioner in Auckland.
