New police chief for Auckland

A new District Commander has been appointed for Auckland City Police.

Superintendent Mike Clement is moving from his job as Western Bay of Plenty area commander, and will take up his new post on January 31.

Mr Clement has a background in investigating organised crime and homicides and spent time at police national headquarters before his move to Tauranga in 2007.
