KEY POINTS:
State Highway Three has been closed in New Plymouth after a head-on crash between two cars.
Fire fighters had to be called to cut some of the passengers out this morning but the extent of their injuries is not yet known.
Police are diverting traffic through Katere Road and Egmont Road and are warning motorists that there will be delays.
