KEY POINTS:
Police have received new information in the Katrina Jefferies murder case which they say contradicts a statement given last year.
Ms Jefferies' semi-naked body was dumped down a bank at the Waikowhai Reserve in Hillsborough, Auckland two years ago.
Her body was found down a bank and partially hidden by a tarpaulin, raincoat, and picture.
Detective Senior Sergeant Gerry Whitley said the police had received information about the items used to hide Ms Jefferies' body since a $50,000 reward was announced last Monday.
"What we've heard in the last week contradicts information given to us in a statement by a different person early in 2006," Mr Whitley said.
He said anyone with accurate information who wants to claim immunity from prosecution should come forward soon.
The investigation team has received 40 phone calls since the reward was announced last Monday and is sorting through the information.
