Viv Napier, the deputy mayor of South Wairarapa, is chairwoman for that district.
The establishment of the committees is part of a new process to deal with all alcohol licensing applications in Wairarapa.
They will consider all applications for on-licences, off-licences, club licences, special licences, temporary authorities, and manager's certificates.
The committees are made up of members selected from a pool of seven appointed by the Wairarapa Liquor Working Group.
Mrs Napier, group chairwoman, said the role of the working group was to empower a group of people to deal with this complex issue.
"They share a passion for the community and have strong links to a number of different areas.
"They have undertaken a comprehensive training course and become experts on this crucial topic within our community, which affects many people in both positive and negative ways."
She said she was delighted with the quality of the applicants.
"It was a good process and we received responses from a lot of high calibre of applicants, with a wide range of ages and experiences," she said.
"Balance is the key to good decision-making around this issue, taking into account all the relevant data available.
"This group of people certainly have the skills to do that."
The other members are:
Don Adams: Judicial JP, farmer, Conservation Board.
Greg Ariell: ALAC locally, regionally and nationally.

Jessie Hunt: Barrister working in family law and mediation, acting for families.
