The Riversdale Beach Volunteer Rural Fire Force have been provided with a new Isuzu fire appliance.
More than 60 people attended the handover ceremony on Saturday, including Masterton mayor Lyn Patterson, deputy Graham McClymont and other councillors and residents of Riversdale Beach.
The Wairarapa Rural Fire District Board chairman Dave Hilliard congratulated the residents and thanked the volunteers of the fire force for their continued support and commitment to their community.
The new appliance was jointly funded by Wairarapa Rural Fire Authority and the National Rural Fire Authority.
With its arrival, it means five of the eight volunteer forces in the Wairarapa Rural Fire District have been upgraded to new Isuzu appliances over the last eight years.
