The Lake Ferry Rural Fire Force took delivery of a new Isuzu fire engine at a ceremony in the South Wairarapa township on Saturday. The Wairarapa Rural Fire District board chairman, David Hilliard, congratulated the residents of Lake Ferry and the fire force members on their continued support and commitment to their community fire force.
The Isuzu was jointly funded by Wairarapa rural ratepayers and the National Rural Fire Authority. With the addition of this appliance, six of the eight fire forces in the Wairarapa Rural Fire District have been upgraded in the past eight years.
