A centre to help intermediate school pupils who are struggling with mainstream education will be set up in Rotorua.
Pupils from Rotorua, Mokoia and Kaitao intermediates who are at risk of dropping out of school will be able to attend the facility to help boost their achievement and get back into mainstream classes.
Education Minister Trevor Mallard said yesterday that $315,000 would be given to the project which would also help develop new styles of teaching and learning.
