Community social housing projects in Wellington, Tauranga and Hamilton have been announced by Housing Minister Nick Smith.
Dr Smith today announced 20 new homes to be funded from the Government's $139 million Social Housing Fund, in partnership with community organisation Accessible Properties.
It will build 12 homes in Wellington and four each in Tauranga and Hamilton, with government funding of $3.5m.
In total, Accessible Properties has received $8.9m in this funding round, including grants for 13 units in Auckland and 16 in Christchurch.
Dr Smith said the Government was keen to grow the community social housing sector, as it was able to provide good quality, low-cost housing and access to comprehensive support services for tenants.
