New CEO of Tauranga City Council named

Tauranga City Council has announced its new Chief Executive.

Ken Paterson, who currently holds the top spot at the Northland Regional Council, is taking up the new position with a salary of $320,000.

He topped the list of over 30 candidates for the position.

The 59-year-old has a strong economic development focus and spent five years as the chief of infrastructure works and maintenance company, Techscape.

Mr Paterson replaces former Chief Executive Stephen Town who stepped down in September to take up a role at the NZTA.
