Lawyers for French spies Alain Mafart and Dominique Prieur head to the Supreme Court today in their third attempt to stop TVNZ screening a film clip of them admitting manslaughter.
The pair are challenging a Court of Appeal decision which upheld TVNZ's right to access the 1985 video footage filmed during a district court hearing.
Mafart and Prieur helped bomb the Greenpeace ship Rainbow Warrior in Auckland Harbour, killing photographer Fernando Pereira. They were sentenced to 10 years' jail for their part in the bombing.
TVNZ initially sought access to the footage for a programme about the bombing. In May, the High Court allowed two videotapes of the committal hearing footage to be made available to TVNZ for inspection and copying.
