New Auckland bishop to be ordained

The Very Reverend Ross Bay will be ordained and installed as the 11th Bishop of Auckland on Saturday.

Previously the Dean of Holy Trinity Cathedral in Parnell, he was elected last November to lead the country's largest Anglican Diocese.

As part of the service the newly ordained bishop will strike the Great Doors of the Cathedral three times with his pastoral staff for them to be opened and he will then be installed as the new Bishop.

Clergy and lay people from throughout the Diocese, New Zealand and Polynesia will attend the ceremony.
