Natural health and beauty are shedding their earthy image with help from Katherine Lonsdale-Cooper and her newly revamped Kingsland store and online boutique, Tonic Room.
A slick mix of modern beauty counter and apothecary-style health store, the space also acts as a medical clinic, with all in-store staff (including Katherine) being trained naturopaths and an upstairs clinic housing practitioners such as integrative doctors, massage therapists and nutritionists.
Having bought the health store a year ago, Lonsdale-Cooper recently unveiled the new look, (put together by Material Creative and Hardhat) with the aim of making natural products more accessible.
"My mission was creating a boutique natural health clinic and store that appealed to everybody in a more mainstream market," she says.
She stocks international beauty and skincare brands such as Jao Brand, Herbivore Botanicals, Ilia Beauty and MCMC Fragrances and local picks like Triumph & Disaster alongside supplements, candles, teas and more.
