Netball Wairarapa secured their first primary trophy in a number of years when the Year 7 rep team won the Cook Osborne Tournament in Kapiti last Sunday.
A cool southerly breeze blew, though the rain held off long enough for them to win

Angelina Kitiseni provided good ball to Ashmore Begg in the shooting circle.
At the defence end Claudia Matapuka and Stevie Payne secured numerous intercepts.
All the players got a minimum of a game and half each.
Other team members were Jahmin Te Kura, Brooke Sim, Kahu Brown, Cheryl Phillips, Sinead Namana, Matia Grace, Kavarn Nicho, Charlotte Pope.
Coach Kim Whiteman was impressed with the teams first major tournament but knows a further step up is required to beat some of the bigger Centres in the coming weeks.
The Year 8's also had good results securing wins over Kapiti Development and Foxton and suffering a narrow loss to Northern Suburbs.
Tessa Johnston played well at GK while Bailey Peterson and Katarina Matapuka shone at the attacking end.
Coach Trudie Hullena is hoping to see more from some of her experienced players in the tournaments to come.
Both teams can be proud of their efforts as their concentration now moves to Palmfields in early July with much improvement expected.
