Netball Wairarapa have confirmed a full line-up of representative coaches for the 2009 season.
The Wairarapa under-17s squad will be coached by Marion Tulloch, the region's only Netball New Zealand level three accredited coach who has had several years experience of coaching age group teams. They will play tourneys in Kapiti and Palmerston North before contesting the inaugural national under-17s tournament in Wellington.
Former national league player Kelly Sargent will coach the Wairarapa under-15s after achieving excellent results at that level last season. They will participate in tournaments in Kapiti, Palmerston North and New Plymouth.
Coaching the Wairarapa under-15s development squad will be Olivia Geange, who last year completed her first NNZ modules under the new coach training system. She has coached at Wairarapa College for a number of years. The development squad will play in tourneys in Kapiti and Palmerston North.
Dayle Clarkson and Linda Douglas, both of whom were accredited as NNZ level two coaches at the beginning of last season, will switch age groups for 2009. Clarkson will coach the year 8 side and Douglas the year 7. Wairarapa will actually host the regional tournament for these age groups in August and the local sides will also attend tourneys in Palmerston North and Upper Hutt.
Trials for the under-17s and under-15s are planned for April 26 and for the year 7s and 8s on May 24.
Netball Wairarapa, in conjunction with CLM Fitness, are also planning a six week pre-season training programme for premier one players and under-17 trialists. This will get underway at 4pm on March 1 at the Genesis Recreation Centre.
