Wairarapa College returned home from the Gold Coast netball carnival, held in Australia over the second week of the school holidays, with the senior plate trophy to show for their efforts.
More than 70 teams took part in the annual event which was celebrating its 10th birthday with schools from New Zealand, Australia and England battling it out on court.
Teams were divided into senior, intermediate and junior grades with Wairarapa College playing over 20 games during the course of the senior competition. They rose to the occasion magnificently, winning all their pool games and the senior plate trophy to boot.
It was not the first time Wairarapa College has come away from this carnival with a positive result, having been awarded the "Spirit of Netball" award in 2002.
Hopes are they will again be involved in the event in two years time.
