The future of North Wairarapa primary school representative netball teams is in jeopardy.
Coaches have been sought by Netball Wairarapa for the two sides-year seven and year eight- but they have received a nil response.
And with their programme-which includes four tournaments in June-set to get under way in two weeks time the chances are they won't be operating in 2005.
Netball Wairarapa vice-president Celia Donaldson described the situation as "very frustrating".
With the North Wairarapa teams being based in the well-populated Masterton area it had not been envisaged that finding coaches would be a problem..
"We've talked to a lot of ex-players and the like about the possibility of them filling the void but so far we have come up with nothing," she said.
"It's a very important age group from a development viewpoint and to see the rep teams go for even one season would be hugely disappointing."
Donaldson said Wairarapa netball was also suffering from a shortage of umpires with several of those who officiated last year either retiring or leaving the district.
