Nelson solicitor Raymond Glen Marshall has been appointed a District Court judge, Attorney-General Christopher Finlayson announced today.
He will be sworn in on April 23 and will sit in Hamilton.
Mr Marshall was admitted to the bar in 1980, and from 1986 to 2001 was a barrister in Hamilton.
In 2001 he was appointed a senior prosecutor with Almao Kellaway and since 2002 has been crown solicitor for Tasman and a partner in Pitt and Moore in Nelson.
He has also worked as a youth advocate, legal advisor to the medical practitioners complaints assessment committees and review officer for HIH Workable Ltd.
